Subject: a speaker for cambridge university's international
development course

Dear Dr. Hope:
Hello! My name is Thuy-Tien Le, and I am part of the organizing committee
for the upcoming International Development Course at Cambridge University.
Twice a year, we organize a day-long series of lectures and workshops for
people in the Cambridge community who are interested in learning more about
and getting involved in international development. Most of the participants
are students, but we certainly do not restrict enrollment only to students.
It is a great opportunity for the Cambridge community to learn more about
the diverse ways we can get involved and make some difference in the world.
The courses are designed for people who have little or no prior experience
or knowledge, to introduce them to some of the issues. For the upcoming
course in May, there will be talks on five broad areas: environment,
education, economics and trade, infrastructure, and health.
I am the co-coordinator of the health strand and am currently looking for
someone to speak who has had field experience. I was wondering if you could
help put me in contact with a returning health volunteer who has worked in
a developing country.
The event will take place at the Law Faculty on 12th May. Each speaker slot
will be 50 minutes, with a lecture component and an activity or discussion
that will enable the course participants to raise questions and interact.
Please let me know if you will be able to help. I look forward to hearing
from you. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Thuy
