3-4 October sees the opening meeting of the 07/08 seesion of the
Catastrophes and Conflict Forum at the Royal Society of Medicine on
the hot topic of medicine and the nuclear threat. The meeting includes
speakers on many aspects of both the nature of the nuclear situation
in the world and the effects of radiation in its various forms on

An international meeting in association with International Physicians
for the Prevention of Nuclear of Nuclear War and its UK affiliate
Medact

The conference aim is to raise awareness and provide the scientific
and health update on some ionising radiation issues and hazards, and
working groups will discuss future research, education and
campaigning. The two day programme will include plenary sessions on
radiation and health, the use of highly enriched uranium to produce
medical isotopes, and updated modelling of the climate effect of
regional nuclear war.
